Introducing Phineas and Ferb

Well, before we moved I decided I wanted to get a kitten. I have loved cats ever since I had one growing up and I was happy to find out that Brandon's not allergic, didn't mind the idea of getting one, and our new apartment complex would let us. We found a lady up here whose cat just had kittens and so we decided to go take a look. When we looked at the kittens for the first time we were still thinking of only getting one, but while we were looking at the kittens, Brandon felt like we should get two, and after thinking about it we decided it was a good idea. It was a little more money (not for them, they were free, just for the vet, food, etc) but we thought it would be nice for them to have a friend to play with when we were not there. We had to wait until they were old enough to leave their mother, but we finally got them. Their names are Phineas and Ferb. They are a lot of fun to play with and very sweet.

Over the first few days we got a lot of scratches on our hands from playing with them. We finally decided to try clipping their little baby nails which has made all the difference. So now we have two little kittens and we love them. They love to play with each other, which mostly consists of chasing each other and wrestling, and when they get tired they curl up on our laps and fall asleep. They are so cute.

We took them to the vet last monday to get their first shots. They hate car rides, and Phineas is very vocal about it. He likes to whine the entire time. Phineas weighs a whopping 2 lbs while Ferb only weighs 1.8 lbs.  They are little guys and very curious, Phineas more so than Ferb sometimes. Phineas liked to explore the counter while Ferb hid in the pet carrier until we dragged him out for his exam. The vet found them to both be healthy.

Our apartment complex was having a cutest pet contest for the month of February, because it was pet appreciation month. We were able to submit their picture right before the deadline, and we found out yesterday that we came in first place for the cats. As a prize we get a $75 credit towards rent for March and maybe a gift card to Petsmart. We were really excited that we won, though Brandon said he wasn't surprised because we had the only kittens, and they are just really cute. Below are some pictures and a video of our two new little friends.
Phineas likes his ribbon. When he gets it into his mouth he starts growling at you, kind of cute.

This picture won the cutest pet contest. Phineas is on the bottom and Ferb is on top.

Taking a snooze in Brandon's arm

Taking a snooze on my arm, while we were playing wii. I discovered that  1.8 lbs gets pretty heavy after a while ;)

They like to run underneath our table and play with each other, but they are going to be to big to do that in no time.

Taking another snooze side by side.
Here is a collection of videos of their cute meows.

Valentine's Weekend

Well we have had an excellent Valentine's weekend. My cousin Jami invited us to her Stake's Valentine's Social, which was Friday, so we decided to do most of our Valentine's Day celebration on Friday. We started off with me giving Brandon his gift. I was pretty excited about his gift because he has been bugging me for a while now that I should pick up programming. Well I haven't really picked it up as a hobby yet, but I decided to program a little application for him for Valentine's Day. I will describe it for you all since I can't really show it to you. When you ran the application a window popped up with several tabs. The first tab had instructions to explore all of the tabs and buttons to find out how much I love Brandon. Then you go through each tab and there are different labeled buttons. The first tab had buttons "L" "O" "V" "E" then when you clicked on the buttons another dialog window would pop up with a quote or a little thought about my love for Brandon. It might sound nerdy and a little cheesy, but Brandon loved it, which made me happy. Then we decided to go out to dinner. I was expecting Brandon's gift to be in the car, so when I got in a kept looking around but didn't see anything. Then the car started and I noticed there was a CD playing. Now normally Brandon and I don't listen to music in the car unless we are on a long road trip or something, so it was kind of weird to me. Once the CD started it all made sense. I had mentioned a week or so ago, while looking at my friends blog which had one of the songs from the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack playing, that I really wanted that soundtrack. So Brandon got it for me and had it start playing on our way to dinner, I thought it was very sweet and thoughtful of him. After dinner at Red Robbin, we went shopping and then headed off to the Social. It was fun to dance with Brandon, even though he got frustrated every once in a while for not being able to remember the dances he had learned in his ballroom class at BYU. There was also cheese cake, which was very good, and a Newly Weds game. We decided to play the game just for fun, and it was a lot of fun, we almost won, but I failed Brandon on the last bonus question so we came in second.
The rest of our weekend was nice and relaxing, and tonight we are going to continue relaxing with Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner and a movie.
I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man by my side. It still amazes me when I think about my life and where I am and where I started. After my freshman year of college, I never expected that I would be married several months later. I am so grateful for the guidance and blessings that Heavenly Father has given to me and Brandon and the wonderful life we share together. I look forward to the day when I can share my love with our children, but for now I am content to share it all with Brandon and our families.
